This is my parcel from Karin, the theme was Miss Marple but as I have all the books, it is a Miss Marple package without a Miss Marple book… Karin thought the darker blue yarn would be perfect for the Reading-In-Bed Shrug (pdf file).
Also included was some sock yarn, rose napkins, a pattern book and frog candle (not pictured).

Birthday Package
I got my package from Megin last Monday and just now got a chance to take pictures. My birthday is this week, so her package came in time as an early birthday present! The theme she chose was “Cables,” which is something I am quite fond of.
The contents included three patterns for cabled items (hat, arm warmers, & socks) in a purple folder, Cascade 220 yarn in Heather Purple (my favorite yarn and color!), some luxurious Alpaca Sox yarn in a muted orange color (so yummy!), Talinay Wool yarn in a blue-pinkish-purplish variegation (very pretty!), a nice letter and some mini stitch markers.
Here are some close-up pictures of the yarn:
I will use the Alpaca yarn to make the sock pattern she sent, and the Talinay for the arm warmer pattern. The Cascade yarn matched perfectly for a color scheme I’m using to make “The Great American Afghan.” You can see more yarn I got for my birthday on my blog here.
I’m so happy! Thank so much Megin!

A box of “Costa Rica” arrived today!
I received a WONDERFUL package from Lani today! It was filled with lots of great goodies, I believe my theme was Costa Rica…. Just look at all the colorful tissue paper, just opening the box & seeing all those bright colors made me happy! Of course it looked much prettier than it does in the photo, this is the “after” shot.
Well, there were tons of great stuff in there! Here is a list: Costa Rican Coffee beans (OMG do these smell wonderful, even sealed!), Yummy Chocolate, Gummy Bears, 2 patterns (that I had in my Ravelry Que!), Designer Tissues (how appropriate at the moment, with all the nose blowing going on here), a Row Counter, Needle Sizer, Chibi Needle, Bamboo Knitting Needles, a really pretty Flower Pen, a Journal with tropical flowers on it (I’ve so wanted one of these for my projects! How did she know?), Tropical Flower Sticky Notes, 2 skeins of Panda Cotton for my sock pattern (in pretty tropical peach, salmon & green), & 2 skeins of Cascade 220 Superwash wool (a pretty bright blue) for my bag pattern!
Thanks so much Lani! You ROCK!!! What an awesome swap partner! I have really enjoyed this swap, I’ll be watching for the next one too.
I have posted even more photos on my blog if anyone wants to check them out…. www.yarndemonadventures.blogspot.com
