Miss Marple

This is my parcel from Karin, the theme was Miss Marple but as I have all the books, it is a Miss Marple package without a Miss Marple book… Karin thought the darker blue yarn would be perfect for the Reading-In-Bed Shrug (pdf file).

Also included was some sock yarn, rose napkins, a pattern book and frog candle (not pictured).

Birthday Package

Posted in Package at 5:13 pm by kountingsheep

I got my package from Megin last Monday and just now got a chance to take pictures. My birthday is this week, so her package came in time as an early birthday present! The theme she chose was “Cables,” which is something I am quite fond of.

The contents included three patterns for cabled items (hat, arm warmers, & socks) in a purple folder, Cascade 220 yarn in Heather Purple (my favorite yarn and color!), some luxurious Alpaca Sox yarn in a muted orange color (so yummy!), Talinay Wool yarn in a blue-pinkish-purplish variegation (very pretty!), a nice letter and some mini stitch markers.

Here are some close-up pictures of the yarn:

I will use the Alpaca yarn to make the sock pattern she sent, and the Talinay for the arm warmer pattern. The Cascade yarn matched perfectly for a color scheme I’m using to make “The Great American Afghan.” You can see more yarn I got for my birthday on my blog here.

I’m so happy! Thank so much Megin!

A box of “Costa Rica” arrived today!

I received a WONDERFUL package from Lani today! It was filled with lots of great goodies, I believe my theme was Costa Rica…. Just look at all the colorful tissue paper, just opening the box & seeing all those bright colors made me happy! Of course it looked much prettier than it does in the photo, this is the “after” shot. :)  Well, there were tons of great stuff in there! Here is a list: Costa Rican Coffee beans (OMG do these smell wonderful, even sealed!), Yummy Chocolate, Gummy Bears, 2 patterns (that I had in my Ravelry Que!), Designer Tissues (how appropriate at the moment, with all the nose blowing going on here), a Row Counter, Needle Sizer, Chibi Needle, Bamboo Knitting Needles, a really pretty Flower Pen, a Journal with tropical flowers on it (I’ve so wanted one of these for my projects! How did she know?), Tropical Flower Sticky Notes, 2 skeins of Panda Cotton for my sock pattern (in pretty tropical peach, salmon & green), & 2 skeins of Cascade 220 Superwash wool (a pretty bright blue) for my bag pattern!

Thanks so much Lani! You ROCK!!! What an awesome swap partner! I have really enjoyed this swap, I’ll be watching for the next one too. :)

I have posted even more photos on my blog if anyone wants to check them out…. www.yarndemonadventures.blogspot.com

Package Recieved

Posted in Package at 6:46 pm by knitwhimsies

I received my package shortly after the first of this month from Tiffany / princessmorange. I was so busy I couldn’t get to it so to be fair I just now opened the package since I was able to mail mine off.

My theme was monkeys and tea. I received a tea pot and cup from Japan. Noro yarn and Paton’s sock yarn, 4 very long rosewood sock needles with warning from swap partner to be careful =-); various candies and royal milk tea…that I tried immediately and it was delicious; and some cute monkeys.Jana / piperdoodle

Irish Eyes (well, Texan Eyes) are smiling

Posted in Uncategorized tagged , at 1:13 pm by hissyknit

Our super-duper hostess, Kim, chose Ireland as her mystery theme.  Is this not the coolest package ever?

A pattern for an Irish Hiking scarf, yummy yarn in such a beautiful color, needles to start and cable, chocolate, Irish breakfast tea, an Irish blessing,  and the best mug in the world.

Thanks again, Kim for a wonderful package and hosting this!  I can’t wait for the next one.

PS. Apparently, I’m a knucklehead because I can’t get the photo to load so please head over to www.hissyknit.blogspot.com to drool over the package.

Thank you, Yarndemon (Anita)!

Anita send me the most fabulous tea-themed package … gorgeous yarn along with the patterns and needles (!!) for not one but two projects; a candle, soap, body lotion, two packages of tea, a sheepy tape measure, a note pad, and she even thoughtfully included treats for my menagerie. What a great package from a fabulous partner. Thank you again, Anita — I’d enjoyed our chats from the start of the swap, and this package just confirms your status as an Officially Fabulous Swap Partner.
